Veolia nottinghamshire Feed 1000 Challenge

 

Nottinghamshire County Council and Veolia (Nottinghamshire County Council’s Waste Contractors) are proud to be hosting Three Feed 1,000 challenge events across Nottinghamshire in 2014.

The ‘Love Food Hate Waste’ Feed the 1,000 challenge will show how 1,000 people can be fed on the average amount of food a family wastes a year - £700.

Feed 1000 Challenge - dates and locations 

Sunday 18th May  11am – 3pm
Bestwood Country Park, Bestwood, Notts, NG6 8ZA

Sunday 1st June  11am – 3pm
King George V Park, Mansfield, Notts, NG18 4JW

Sunday 15th June   11am – 3pm
Bridge Field, West Bridgford. Notts, NG2 6AP

This event is open to all Nottinghamshire residents. Entry is free and the 1,000 lunches will also be provided free of charge.

Voluntary & Local groups are invited to attend and can apply to bring: publicity, display, promotional material and free games / activities. For details please contact us.

Love Your Leftovers

The live, sustainable, cookery demonstrations are designed to change habits, develop new skills, save money and help the environment. The initiative aims to tackle the food waste problem crisis through cookery entertainment centred on creating delicious food from leftovers and by giving people hints, tips and ideas for planning meals, storing food and measuring out portions.
