Used fireworks can be brought to your local Household Waste Recycling Site and placed in the general waste container or in dustbins at home as long as they have been fully extinguished.

Martin Benson Veolia South Downs Household Wastes Recycling Sites Manager said:

“We are unable to accept unused fireworks at the Household Waste Recycling Sites as they are explosive, but please contact your local Fire Authority for advice on disposing of fireworks that have not gone off.  People can bring spent fireworks to the site and dispose of them in the general waste containers as long as they have been fully put out.”
