Grants available for community groups to help enhance Birmingham

Second city projects to benefit from Veolia EnviroGrant funding to improve the environment and community

Community groups and environmental project leaders of Birmingham ...we want to hear from you.

The Veolia EnviroGrant scheme is once again being rolled out, to help not-for-profit organisations, community groups, societies and charities improve the communities and environment.

In return, Veolia will offer grants of up to £1,000 to fund the schemes.

Last year just under £10,000 - split over two periods, six months apart  - was awarded to five projects, selected from 77 applications. Those chosen were benefiting local communities and providing opportunities for residents.

The successful recipients from the forthcoming round of applicants will each receive funding from an overall pot of £5,000.

Mark Powell, General Manager for Veolia in Birmingham, said: “The EnviroGrant scheme helps local groups in Birmingham improve community areas.

“It is a great opportunity for groups and projects that strive to make Birmingham a better place to live and visit.

“If there are any groups or projects out there that think they would benefit from our support then we want to hear from them.

“But don’t delay - the closing date is Friday, 31st May. This is your chance to apply for a grant that can help leave a lasting legacy for your community in Birmingham.”
