There's a new Reuse Shop in town!

Reclaimed materials have been used to build the Reuse Shop that is located at Veolia, in Tyseley, just before entering the household recycling centre.

Veolia is excited to be working in partnership with Community Reuse on this venture for Birmingham residents to be able to bring items that no longer serve a purpose to them but could be useful to someone else. By reusing items rather than disposing of them preserves the earth's natural resources and is the more sustainable option when you have items still fit for use.

Community Reuse financially contributes to community initiatives such as bicycle repair workshops with the help of community interest company, Circle Round. Circle Round offers these workshops to teach cyclists basic repair skills in order to encourage more people to cycle where they would normally drive or use other modes of transport. This will, in turn, help contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions in the city.

Don't forget to visit the Coffee Hub based at the Reuse Shop if you're visiting the shop to pick up a hot drink while you browse.

Here's a sneak peek at how the build of the Reuse Shop is going.

The Reuse Shop

The Reuse Shop is now open to the public! By purchasing reusable items, reduces the need to produce new products and saves the Earth's natural resources.

Think Green.

Think Sustainable.

Think Reuse.

Donation areas for reuse will be situated at the Tyseley HRC as well at the Perry Barr, Kings Norton and Castle Bromwich HRCs and will accept items such as:

Household goods including furniture

Electrical items

Bicycles and Bric a Brac

Garden tools and lawnmowers

Don't forget, if you're visiting the recycling centres an online booking must be made ahead of the visit

The Reuse Shop can accept household items that are no longer useful to you but still has life in them for someone else to use. Such items can be brought to the Tyseley, Kings Norton and Castle Bromwich household recycling centres.

Electrical items that may require minimal repairs may be considered for reuse - speak to the staff on site before donating.

The list on the right is just a few examples of what could be reused. Download the postcard below to retain a record as a reminder:
