Veolia Hampshire Chineham Energy Recovery Facility Open Day on Saturday 17 September 2016
The event is designed to show how an energy-from-waste facility works and turns waste into a resource.
During the day visitors can experience:
• A behind-the-scenes tour of the facility
• A visit to the control room
• Educational games for younger visitors
Facility Manager, Andy Macqueen of Veolia said:
“We think this is a great opportunity for our neighbours and local residents to come and explore what happens at our site. We hope people will come to meet us and gain an inside view on how we are working behind the scenes on their behalf!”
Chineham Energy Recovery Facility is part of the Project Integra network of waste management infrastructure, designed to handle Hampshire’s household waste and recycling. In Hampshire just 10% of our waste is sent to landfill – topping the league tables for waste diverted from landfill.
