Haringey - Last chance for free compost

Residents and community groups, act now to claim free compost from Edmonton Eco-Park

Due to the North London Waste Authority's commissioning of a new Energy Recovery Facility to replace the existing plant, the on-site Composting Facility - where Haringey's food and garden waste is currently sent - will need to close while works are carried out. During this time, free compost will not be available.

Community groups and allotments wishing to place bulk orders for free compost have until Friday 31st August. There will still be some time for residents to obtain individual bags ahead of the site closure date of Saturday 27th October.

Separate arrangements are being made with another Composting Facility to ensure that all of Haringey's food and garden waste will still be composted, so your efforts will not go to waste.

If you have not yet signed up to the garden waste service, or are not currently participating in a food waste collection service, please contact the Veolia Contact Centre on [email protected] or 020 8885 7700 to ensure you don't miss out on these opportunities to recycle even more of your waste.

Note to Editors:

The Edmonton Eco-Park, including its on-site In-Vessel Composting Facility, is operated by London Energy Ltd on behalf of the North London Waste Authority (NLWA). The NLWA is responsible for the treatment and disposal of all waste and recycling collected in the seven North London boroughs of Haringey, Camden, Barnet, Enfield, Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest.
