Veolia undertook a public consultation on initial proposals for an Energy Recovery Facility in Heysham in late 2018. During this time, two public exhibitions were held at Heysham Golf Club.
The response to this consultation was largely positive and all feedback was reviewed by the development team ahead of the proposals being finalised.
A planning application for the Heysham Gateway Energy Recovery Facility has now been submitted to Lancashire County Council, as the Authority with responsibility for waste locally.
The Council will be conducting its own consultation on the plans before taking a decision on whether to approve the application. You can find out more about this by visiting the Council's planning portal at planningregister.lancashire.gov.uk and using the reference number LCC/2019/0021.
As a responsible company, Veolia is hosting a further round of public information events for those interest in finding out more about the final planning application submitted.
These events will be an opportunity to view the final plans and speak to a member of the development team should you have any outstanding questions.
The events are currently scheduled for:
- Tuesday 14th May - 15:00 - 19:00 - Heysham Golf Club, Trumacar Park, Heysham Road, LA3 3JH
- Friday 15th May - 14:00 - 18:00 - Lancaster & Morecambe College, Morecambe Road, LA1 2TY
