Myatt’s Fields Park was voted among the top ten most popular parks in this year’s Green Flag People’s Choice Awards, beating stiff competition from more than 1500 parks and green spaces across Britain.

Myatt’s Fields, in Lambeth, south London is a wonderful Victorian-era park with fine examples of seasonal bedding displays, as shown in the photos below. The park is one of eleven Green Flag Award-winning parks in Lambeth that are managed by Veolia on behalf of Lambeth Council.  It was placed ninth this year, the highest the park has reached in the competition. The People’s Choice Award, which is voted for by members of the public, recognises the considerable achievements made by residents, the council and Veolia to provide the local community with a quality green space which the public can be proud of.

Christine Stacey, Parks Contract Manager for Veolia in Lambeth, said: “We’re delighted to see Myatt’s Fields Park reach the top ten this year, thanks to the dedication from our grounds and maintenance team here in Lambeth. This is a fantastic recognition of another year of hard work to ensure Lambeth’s parks our some of the very best in the country.”
