Lambeth and Southwark residents are invited to get food waste savvy this Halloween.
In partnership with Lambeth and Southwark councils, we're hosting a healthy Halloween cooking event to inspire you with wholesome autumn recipes that are not only delicious but help reduce food waste.
The event is in support of the London-wide Small Change Big Difference campaign, which promotes sustainable food behaviours and healthy eating.
On the day you'll learn tricks on how to squash food waste forever, while stirring up some tasty Halloween treats that won't scare your dentist.
What's on offer?
There'll be cooking demonstrations and creative workshops throughout the day from Sneaky Veg chef, Mandy Mazliah. You can also pick up recipes to try at home, so get ready to roast your pumpkin seeds and turn spooky lantern leftovers into a winter warming curry!
The Veolia team will also be on hand - ready to recycle inedible food and provide advice on its composting and food waste recycling services.

All you have to do is share the food waste hints and tips we will be sharing everyday across Southwark and Lambeth council's Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages. Two winners will be picked daily* reach receiving a vegetable box supplied by Local Greens.

Competition T&Cs
- The competition will run from 14-19 October and posts will be shared each day.
- There will be 12 winners in total, one from those sharing the Lambeth post and one from those sharing the Southwark post for each day Monday to Saturday.
- The winners will be selected at random by 12pm the following day and winners will be notified by direct message in the first instance (if possible) before the winner is announced publicly.
- Veg boxes are being provided by localgreens.org.uk.
- Winners will be sent a voucher to collect their veg box and must email [email protected] or call/text 07808 651 665 by Sunday to book in collection for the following Thursday.
- Collections can be made on Thursdays from their main location Arch 1169, Bathfactory Estate, 41 Norwood Road, London, SE24 9AJ, or from one of their collection points. See their website for full details localgreens.org.uk/partners.
