Veolia has recently had its partnership with Lambeth Council extended to 2021 for waste services. We collect recycling and rubbish from over 130,000 households each week.
There are over 130 different languages spoken in the borough, with Yoruba and Portuguese being the two most popular after English. The borough incorporates parts of the world famous South Bank and the London Eye.
In Lambeth we have strong links with the local community groups and organisations. We are proud to support organisations such as Sports Fusion, Community Freshview and Friends of Windmill Gardens.
Recycling and Refuse
In Lambeth we are currently recycling 28%. Thank you for recycling! Let's keep a good thing going.
Residents can recycle the following items in their green recycling bins or clear recycling bags:
- Please rinse out all bottles, jars, tins and cans
- Please remove all bottle lids
- Yoghurt pots
- Margarine tubs
- Junk mail
- Plastic bags
- Crisp packets
- Aluminium foil
- Bottle tops
All items that currently cannot be recycled should be placed in your black wheeled bin.
We are responsible for keeping all of the streets in Lambeth clean and tidy. We are also responsible for the emptying of on-street litter bins, gully cleaning, fly-tip removal and the removal of drug paraphernalia. We also have a team dedicated to the cleaning of the markets in the borough.
