Dalkia charity football tournament

Colleagues from Dalkia UK and Ireland, suppliers and customers joined forces to complete the teams, whilst friends and family looked on in support at the fundraising event. The tournament, which was widely covered by local radio, Radio Aire and Magic 828, had an overwhelming turnout on the day.

Cash for Kids, a charity that supports local children and young people who are suffering from abuse or neglect, or who are disabled and have special needs, operates across 21 areas of the UK. Dalkia, which has raised a total of £30,000, collected the charity money through team registrations, raffle auctions, company donations, GB Group sponsorship of man of the match and Barclays match funding.

The final, which saw a 1-0 win to Dalkia's North East team against Arla Despatch, continued well into the evening at Bewleys Hotel for after match celebrations and evening entertainment.

Darren O'Neill, from Dalkia, commented: "The success of Dalkia's Cup charity football tournament has continued to grow, with great support from Dalkia's teams, customers and suppliers. Now in its fifth year, the tournament has raised over £30,000, which we hope to successfully increase next year."
