Stephen Fry commends Veolia’s efforts for Mind

Recognition of Veolia's charity endeavours for Mind

At the beginning of 2011 Veolia Environmental Services embarked on a partnership with Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales.

To date, through employee fundraising, participation in Mind’s major events and corporate donations Veolia has raised around £80,000. This money will go towards helping the one in four people who experience mental health problems in any given year.

The partnership has provided Mind with pro bono support and has given Veolia the opportunity to take advantage of mental health awareness consultancy. For more information about the partnership, read Kevin Hurst’s blog.

Stephen Fry, Mind’s President said: "It's really great to hear about Veolia Environmental Services' tremendous support for Mind in 2011. Well done to all the staff who have been involved in the partnership through volunteering and fundraising. This support enables this wonderful charity to continue its vital work to help anyone who experiences a mental health problem."

"On behalf of Mind, I would like to everyone at Veolia for all of their efforts and wish them the best of luck for 2012, which I am confident will be an even bigger success".

Paul Farmer, Mind’s CEO said: “From carol singing in Brighton, sky diving in Birmingham to sponsored pyjama wearing in Glasgow, staff have risen to the challenge to help raise an exceptional amount for Mind. Whether it’s climbing the Three Peaks, running a marathon, buying a raffle ticket or holding a cake sale; all of this has contributed.”

Veolia will continue to support Mind through fundraising and volunteering activities throughout 2012 to help raise awareness of mental health problems.
