£2 million investment in the cruise and commercial shipping market
Based at the company’s strategically placed MARPOL reception and treatment facilities at Marchwood on Southampton Water, ‘Seagreen’ represents a £2 million investment by Veolia in the cruise and commercial shipping market based at Southampton and other ports along the South Coast.
Designed to Lloyds’ classification, the multi-role vessel is suitable for carrying a wide range of waste and recycling streams in a single trip providing operators with efficient waterside collections and an enhanced discharge rate for faster turnaround times. The double-hulled vessel offers considerable improvements in operational performance and has an onboard crane for heavy items which keeps the quayside clear and avoids disruption to shipping activities.
Jean Dominique Mallet, Chief Executive Officer, Veolia Environmental Services (UK) Plc said: “’Seagreen’ represents an important expansion of our marine services fleet that reflects the success of our Marchwood operation in developing specialist support to the three hundred cruise ships that visit Southampton every year.”
