Find out what happens to your recycling after it’s been collected...
Gillmoss Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is hosting an Open Day on Friday 1st November.
Visitors will get to see behind the scenes and discover how everyday recycling from our homes is separated to be made into new products.
From the secure aerial walkway you will see how a range of manual, optical and mechanical techniques are being used to turn waste into a resource that is helping us to build a sustainable future.
Recycling Officers will be on hand to give residents advice on what can and can’t be recycled and there will be activities and refreshments.
Veolia, who manage the treatment of waste and recycling in the region on behalf of Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority, said booking is not required for the free event.
Residents of all ages can visit Gillmoss MRF on Bridgehouse Lane, Liverpool, L10 5HA anytime between 10am – 2pm on Friday 1st November and if you can’t make this date Veolia take group bookings all year round.
