Educational group visits

Find out more about what our visitor experience for schools, home-school networks, colleges and universities in the Merseyside & Halton region.

Through presentations, group work and hands on activities we will cover:

  • What pupils and their families can put in their recycling bins
  • What is contamination
  • What happens to the waste and recycling after it has been collected.

The visit content is adjusted for the age and ability of the group and length of visit and includes a tour of the Materials Recovery Facility.

Part of our commitment in helping you Recycle Right is through our free education programme. We are asking all groups that make a booking to commit to undertake one or more actions back at school and to tell us how it went. Easy really!

Our purpose built, visually stimulating classroom is fully accessible and all sessions are led by a qualified teacher.

Gillmoss Recycling Discovery Centre holds the Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge. This is the only nationally recognised indicator of good quality educational provision and effective risk management.
