Veolia helps keep wastewater system flowing

Veolia keep Ballynacor WwTW operational 24/7

Treating sewerage and wastewater is an essential service provided by Veolia in Northern Ireland.

During the COVID-19 pandemic there were many employees who delivered essential services for the people of Northern Ireland. Among those are the 75 members of the Veolia team who kept the five wastewater treatment plants and the sludge incinerator we operate on behalf of Northern Ireland Water fully operational at all times.

Nick O'Hara, Wastewater Treatment Manager, Veolia Northern Ireland, was interviewed by the Irish News where he spoke about the services provided by Veolia and the impact of COVID-19 on the team.

COVID has brought its particular challenges. But while many business shut down for a time, [our plants] still need to run 24/7
