FREE paint on offer for residents and community groups in Nottinghamshire

The latest news on the Veolia Nottinghamshire RePaint scheme

Nottinghamshire residents and community groups now have more opportunities to collect free paint - thanks to the Community RePaint Nottinghamshire scheme run by Veolia (Nottinghamshire County Council’s waste contractors)

Did you know that more than half of us have between four and twenty tins of perfectly good paint gathering dust in our homes? This leads to an estimated 40 litres of reusable paint being wasted from our homes every minute in the UK?

Community RePaint Nottinghamshire is hosted at Calverton, Warsop, Newark and Beeston Recycling Centres, where reusable paint can be taken by Notts residents to for reuse, and Nottinghamshire residents, local community groups and schools are able to pick up that paint for free!

Free paint is be available to collect on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

A collection slot must be booked in advance

For Residents between April and September at slots 6pm - 7.35pm

book a collection slot at: www.veolia.co.uk/nottinghamshire/PublicPaint

For Community Groups at slots between 9am - 12 mid day

book a collection slot at: www.veolia.co.uk/nottinghamshire/CommunityGroupPaint

Richard Allen, Contract Logistics Manager for Veolia Nottinghamshire says: “It’s far better for paint to be reused rather than disposed of, so if you’ve never given Community RePaint a go, book a time slot and come and pick up some free paint.”

Last year Community RePaint added colour to the lives of over 316,000 people across the UK, including groups, charities and residents from Nottinghamshire who took part in the Nottinghamshire Community RePaint scheme. The Paint reuse scheme accepts unwanted/surplus paint from Nottinghamshire residents at the recycling centres in Warsop, Newark, Beeston and Calverton. Any tins that are at least half full of reusable paint are stored separately in the shelved reuse container and are given away for free. Unfortunately we can’t guarantee what colours or types of paint will be available.

As usual when visiting a Recycling Centre please wear sturdy, closed toe footwear and it’s a good idea to bring bags or boxes to protect your vehicle when transporting the paint home.
