Love to recycle after Valentines Day

After Valentine’s Day Veolia (Nottinghamshire County Council’s waste contractor) are encouraging Nottinghamshire residents to ‘love recycling’, and once the day is over, to recycle their paper, card, cans and plastic bottles.
Once the romantic gestures have been gratefully received, don’t forget about the packaging!
Valentines cards*, wrapping paper* and cardboard packaging can all be recycled from home in your kerbside bin.
Councillor Jim Creamer, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council's Environment and Sustainability Committee, said: "By using Nottinghamshire's recycling bins correctly, you can become a recycling hero and help reduce the amount of waste sent to recovery, ensuring valuable resources are reused.”
Lea Hawkes General Manager for Veolia added: "Lots of waste packaging can be recycled after Valentine's Day such as chocolate boxes (without their inserts), preening product aerosol cans, fizzy drinks plastic bottles, and the cardboard sleeve from food containers too. Valentines Day is a time for roses and romance and a great opportunity to reduce, reuse and recycle too!”
Nottinghamshire residents can show their love for the environment by recycling paper, cardboard, tins, cans and plastic bottles in their kerbside recycling bin, and glass bottles and jars can be taken to any of the County’s recycling centres.
