Nottinghamshire students are being invited to go on a tour to find out more about recycling and waste and help celebrate Science Week

From Friday 10th March to 19th March, Recycle for Nottinghamshire Education are welcoming Nottinghamshire pupils (KS2 and above) to the Mansfield ‘Materials Recovery Facility’ (MRF) and education centre, for tours and recycling activities.

The theme this year is ‘Change’, encouraging young people to think about and investigate the changes happening in the world all around us: from seasons and climate, to materials and energy. It is also a chance for young people to consider the changes they can make to have a positive impact on the future.

This year three activity packs have been provided, one for early years, one for primary and one for secondary. Each have a variety of activities to run in the classroom or with your family at home. These packs are available to download from: http//:www.britishscienceweek.org/plan-your-activities/activity-packs.

Visits to the MRF are free, to find out more or to book a tour please email: [email protected] or call Veolia’s Recycling and Education Officer at the Mansfield Recovery Facility on 0203 567 4391.
