Share and donate and recycle unwanted books

Good reading starts early and children who share books with others are more likely to develop language skills and advanced reading levels. Sharing and Reusing books can also help to keep children’s imaginations fired up and encourage them to become avid readers.

If you've got books that you’ve finished reading, whether new or used they can be donated to Nottinghamshire libraries, whose staff will assess the donated books and allocate them to the most appropriate library. Donated books must be - in good condition and less than three years old, however books that are dirty, yellowing or have torn, loose or missing pages can be recycled at any of Nottinghamshire’s Recycling Centres.

Richard Allen, Contract Logistics Manager at Veolia said: “Nottinghamshire’s Recycling Centres offer much more than places just to deposit your waste, in-fact an impressive 80% of the waste Nottinghamshire residents take to the sites is recycled or reused.”
