Diageo's £40m Roseisle Scotch whisky distillery has been nominated in the Energy and Carbon Management - Long Term Payback category of the 2degrees Champions Awards 2014. The distillery uses by-products from the distilling process as a source of renewable energy for the plant.
Roseisle has an onsite bioenergy and effluent treatment facility, working in operational partnership with Dalkia. No other malt whisky distillery has a plant such as this on the same scale.
The 2degrees Champions Awards recognize those driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of sustainable business. The awards will be announced on July 9th 2014 at Wembley Stadium.
