EnviroGrant boosts recycling at Lady Bay Primary School

Helping to promote recycling and raise awareness of recycling for a Nottinghamshire school

Veolia’s welcome EnviroGrant donation will be put towards the purchase of new playground recycling bins, to promote recycling and raise awareness of its importance among pupils. The EnviroGrant donation is a welcome addition to pupils’ imaginative fund-raising activities over the summer such as a swap shop and splat the teacher event!

Amy Roberts, Waste Awareness Officer at Veolia ES Nottinghamshire (Nottinghamshire County Council’s waste management contractor), says: “It’s crucial that children begin to recycle at a young age so that it becomes an everyday habit. We are pleased to be helping Lady Bay Primary make their school an even greener and more sustainable place to learn and work with the installation of new recycling bins.”

Alison Chilton, Eco Club Leader at Lady Bay Primary School, adds: “Thanks to Veolia we are now half way to our target of just over £1,000. We hope to be able to install one of the new dual recycling bins in the autumn term!”

Veolia Environmental Services Nottinghamshire’s EnviroGrant is a fund to which not-for-profit community groups based in the county of Nottinghamshire (excluding the city of Nottingham) can apply for grants of up to £1,000 for projects which improve their local environment.
