The sites do get busy due to the social distancing restrictions in place to protect the safety of residents and our workforce. The sites can only remain open if residents fully co-operate and use the sites safely and responsibly. It is critical that the following instructions are adhered to:
- Always listen and be courteous to our staff
- Do not queue outside the sites as this may cause potential danger for other road users trying to pass. Drivers will initially be asked to move on by the site staff, and failure to do so will result in a £70 Penalty Charge Notice being issued.
- Sheffield City Council and Veolia will not tolerate any physical or verbal threats to its workforce, and all such incidents will be reported to the Police, and the sites may be closed.
Steve Newman, General Manager, Veolia Sheffield said:
“Usage of our HWRCs has been extremely high since the first national lockdown and we’re expecting that will remain the case.
“Due to social distancing restrictions, we’re limiting the number of vehicles on-site at any one time and this means that the sites can get busy. Please be respectful to our colleagues and other visitors by following any instructions given.”
Veolia share queuing times for the sites throughout the day and advise residents to check the current queuing times before travelling to a site, on Twitter https://twitter.com/Recycle4Shef.
