Garden waste collection service springs back into action

The garden waste collection service for 2015 will begin again in April. In partnership with Sheffield City Council, Veolia are providing this convenient kerbside recycling service for less than £2 per week.

To take advantage of all 15 green wheelie-bin collections, which take place from April to November, residents can sign up and make the one-off payment of £55.14 by Friday 3rd April. To make being green even easier for residents, this year online payments can be made at www.veolia.co.uk/sheffield.

Debbie Doohan, General Manager, Veolia said: “Customers will receive a convenient fortnightly collection service which ensures their garden waste is transported to and composted at a local licensed facility. Residents also have the opportunity to sign up part way through the service at a reduced rate.”

Unwanted garden waste can also be recycled for free at any of the city’s five Household Waste Recycling Centers or at home by composting. Home composting is really easy to do. To help you get started, through a discounted scheme, compost bins are available from only £15.
