The pool table has formed part of an activity centre complete with a table tennis table and a football table for the young people to play together and enjoy.
Alan Garnham, driver at Veolia commented “It’s great that we can reuse our old pool table by donating it to such a worthy cause. It was a pleasure to meet the young people living in the house and I hope they will enjoy using the pool table for years to come.”
Cherrytree supports homeless people aged 16 - 21 that are unable to live with their families and are in need of support. They provide the life skills training necessary for residents to re-establish their lives and to move into their own accommodation with confidence. Throughout 2011 Cherrytree supported 56 young people at their two sites in Sheffield.
Angela Grayson, service manager at Cherrytree commented: “I would like to thank Veolia for their generous donation. It has far exceeded our expectations and provided a fantastic way for the young people in the house to socialise and have fun.”
