Collection

How should I present my waste for collection?

  • Please ensure that you place your item(s) out for collection in an easily accessible location  at the front boundary of your property clearly visible from the kerbside by 7am on the morning of your collection date.  Please do not leave your items in basements or areas that need to be accessed by any steps.
  • Any material-based items such as sofas or mattresses should be covered up to prevent them getting wet, as this significantly increases the weight of the item.
  • If you live in a block of flats, place your items by your bin store area, or where you would place your rubbish for collection  and clearly label the paid for collection items.
  • We regret we are unable to enter the property.
  • Please note that bulky items booked for collection should not be left either touching or resting against third party property as this may affect our ability to collect and remove the item(s).

Can you collect from inside my property?

No we are not authorised to enter a property, please place your items outside your property but within your property boundary.

How many items can I place out for collection?

You can book a collection for up to 5 items. Don’t present more items than the number you have booked for. If you have more items to dispose of, you can book an additional collection.

My items have not been collected, what should I do?

If your collection has been missed, please also call the Veolia Contact Centre on  0203 567 6955 Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm or email [email protected].

Can I share my booking with my neighbour?

Yes this is possible, however the items need to be presented on the premises of the property that has paid for the booking, otherwise the crew will not be able to collect them. We will only be able to deal with the person making the payment.

Other questions

I don’t want to book a kerbside collection, what can I do with my bulky waste?

If you do not wish to book a collection, you can contact a local charity to see if they can use it – please note items such as sofas, armchairs and cushions, must have fire labels still attached.
You can also take your bulky waste to one of your local household waste recycling centres at Stock Road and Leigh Marshes. Household items (including bikes) that are in good condition and safe to use can be donated to the Reuse Shop at Stock Road.
