We have good news for garden enthusiasts!

New garden waste service for Southend residents

For as little as £1 per week*, Veolia - in partnership with Southend-on-Sea Borough Council - can collect your garden waste weekly from the kerbside, throughout the year. Our new garden waste portal also makes it easier than ever to sign up and renew each year. And if you subscribe between the 11th and the 31st May, you will automatically enter a prize draw to have a chance to win a year's subscription! Please see terms and conditions here.

The garden waste collected by Veolia is turned into ProGrow compost at an open windrow composting site. Here it is shredded, mixed and turned regularly. The heat generated through the natural breakdown of organic material by bacteria helps to kill pathogens and weed seeds.  The resulting compost can be purchased from www.pro-grow.com allowing you to close the recycling loop in your own garden. For International Compost Awareness Week, we will be giving out free compost at the Parks Nursery Open Weekend on 11th and 12th May for the 50 first visitors. Why not drop in and talk to our Veolia recycling officers to learn more about our services and how to recycle.

To sign up now for a weekly collection, please use our online portal here.
