Young Southwark resident receives a surprise visit from Munch to exchange his dummies for recycling goodies

This October, two year old Harry, received a surprise visit from his favourite refuse and recycling collectors and their trusty recycling truck, Munch. The crew had kindly offered to take Harry’s dummies in exchange for a recycling goody bag containing a Veolia Hi-Vis jacket, Munch storybook and his very own recycling truck. Harry was more than happy to handover his dummies and enjoyed spending the morning with Munch and the crew.

Harry is fascinated with recycling and collection vehicles and looks forward to his collection day every week. Eagerly awaiting a visit from Benny, Michael and Patrick who collect his waste and recycling every Tuesday morning.

When parents, Helen and Paul, knew it was time for Harry to stop using dummies they also knew they needed a distraction. After contacting Veolia, the crew wanted to help and volunteered to surprise Harry with a visit from Munch.

The crew knew it would be difficult for Harry to give up his dummies, so to help him ease into a life without them, they brought him a Veolia goody bag. Now Harry can spend time playing with his new recycling trucking truck and reading about the adventures of Munch and the Funny Tummy.

Parents Helen and Paul said: ‘I can’t thank the crew enough for helping Harry giving away his dummies and for generally being the best and friendliest crew in the world! We look forward to seeing them every week and Henry talks about Bayay, Matmay and Patpat all the time and will not be separated from his new truck’
