Borough benefits from over £12,000 for sports and community projects

A total of £12,472 funding has been awarded to 19 different sports and community groups by Veolia as part of the Telford & Wrekin Council waste contract initiatives and added value plan.  The plan supports projects that benefit the community and environment across the borough.
Councillor Shaun Davies, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services, said “I am delighted that we have been able to award this money to groups across the borough that are committed to improving their environment through a range of projects.”
Steve Mitchell, Director of Veolia said “It is a privilege to meet so many passionate and inspiring people who are working in their local community to enhance our surroundings. Since Veolia was awarded the Waste contract in April 2014, we have invested over £50,000 back into Telford and Wrekin. We are looking forward to supporting local projects for years to come.”
