EnviroGrant Scheme open for applications

Local organisations can apply for up to £1000 grant for projects based in the borough of Telford and Wrekin.

The scheme has already awarded over £28,000 since it began and is set to offer further funds throughout  2016. The EnviroGrant is part of an added value initiative through Telford & Wrekin Council’s recycling contract with Veolia.

Judy of Madeley Community Orchard said “I urge any groups in Telford to apply for this grant. The form is really easy to complete and Veolia and Telford & Wrekin Council want these funds to go to where they are needed the most. Their contribution enabled us to buy a lock up for our tools to keep everything safe and secure. We are truly grateful for their support and we are looking forward to making our orchard an even more beautiful place for people to visit.”

Sarah Maythorne, Community Liaison Officer for Veolia said “After the success of our EnviroGrant awards earlier this year in conjunction with the local council, we are keen to encourage people to apply to the scheme as soon as possible. The deadline for entries is Friday 12 August 2016.

“It is a pleasure for us to work on this added value plan with Telford & Wrekin Council who are striving to make Telford an even better place to live.”
