Residents are reminded to separate their recycling

Veolia are asking residents across the borough to take extra care when recycling their batteries, bulbs and textiles.

The town's recycling trucks have special storage areas to collect batteries, bulbs and textiles separatley. These items need to be keep seperated in order to be sent on to reprocessors to be recycled.

Sarah Maythorne, Community Liaison Officer for Veolia said " We are so grateful for how well the residents of Telford & Wrekin are recycling already. The borough has seen an increase of 4% in recycled household waste over the last two years and we should all be really proud of this achievement.

"As always, there is more that we can do. By ensuring the different materials are kept seperated we can recycle even more.  We want to remind residents to seperate their recycling and that any batteries, bulbs or textiles need to be presented in clear plastic bags so crews can see what they are and ensure they go on the correct journey to be recycled."
