Good recyclers from across Telford & Wrekin have been rewarded for recycling correctly with £50 worth of vouchers. The Super Thumbs Up Prize Pot initiative, run by Telford & Wrekin Council and Veolia, has rewarded 100 people in the last twelve months. The vouchers were for a selection of council services including leisure services, TWIGs gardening service, the Skills and Enterprise Hub, property services and Oakengates theatre.
Julia Wood of Tibberton, who is going to use her vouchers at the theatre, was delighted to be rewarded for her recycling. Julia said, “I’ve never won anything so I was delighted to receive the bin hanger. I find the recycling straightforward – sometimes I have to correct my grandchildren.”
Councillor Angela McClements, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Customer and Neighbourhood Services, said: “This is a great initiative that rewards residents that put their recycling in the right receptacle.”
