Woodside’s winning recycler

Veolia, the recycling contractor for the borough has £5,000 to award over the next few months to residents who recycle right. Shirley chose to use her vouchers for the Telford and Wrekin Inclusive Gardening Service (TWIGS), to spruce up her garden.

Shirley, said, “I think recycling is important, so I like to do my recycling correctly with the purple top bin and the blue bag. I’m thrilled to have won the vouchers, the TWIGS team have made a real difference to my garden – cutting the grass, trimming trees and hedges and weeding.”

Super Thumbs Up Prize Pot vouchers will be awarded to more residents across the borough in the coming weeks; in order to be chosen, people have to recycle in the right way. For further information on how to use your recycling containers correctly please click here.

Councillor Angela McClements, Telford & Wrekin Council’s cabinet member for Customer and Neighbourhood Services, said: “This is a great initiative that rewards residents that put their recycling in the right receptacle. Doing this saves the council money and time which is why we have set this initiative up in partnership with Veolia.

“Congratulations to Shirley on the receipt of her reward.”
