Veolia working with the Community

Promoting recycling and sustainability

Veolia seek to improve awareness of and engagement in recycling by talking to residents about the service. We  do this through talks, information stands and door knocking campaigns. We also offer visits to local Veolia sites in Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury, namely the Materials Recovery Facility (where the purple top bin materials are sorted) and the Energy Recovery Facility (where the red-top bin materials are used to make energy).  we also seek to promote reducing waste and reusing materials, as well as composting - all part of promoting a greener way to live. If you're interested in a talk, information stand or a visit, please contact Ruth Jones on 07824 545597 or [email protected]

Alongside this the company offers financial grants to not-for-profit organisations that work to improve the environment and community of Telford and Wrekin.  The EnviroGrant Scheme offers grants of up to £1000 for community or environmental projects within the borough. Please see the information leaflet below for more information and terms and conditions. The online application form can be found below - the closing date is the end of January.
