The average baby uses up to 4,000 nappies from birth to potty. On average nearly 2,000 babies a year are born in West Berkshire: that’s 3.2 million nappies thrown away every year! If every baby used cloth nappies instead they would need just 24 real nappies on the washing line, saving around £500 per child.
West Berkshire's Executive Councillor for the Environment, Hilary Cole said: "Parents are invited to the Nappuccino where they can sign up for a free nappy trial to try over 20 different types of real nappies for 2 weeks, completely free of charge."
General Manager for Veolia Environmental Services, Mark Gray added: "Real nappies are a great choice not just for protecting our environment but also provide comfort for your child and save money."
