General Manager inspires at career day

Toby Terlet, General Manager at Veolia Birmingham stood before year 8 pupils at Starbank School as part of their annual career day. It was Toby’s toughest audience yet as he spoke about his career journey and the importance of sticking to your goals with hard work and dedication.

30 pupils received talks from a variety of individuals including lawyers, Councillors, gynaecologists and police officers. Toby spoke of the variety of opportunities available when working for a global company like Veolia. Toby began his career in waste management after graduating from university in Australia.

Toby said “It was brilliant to be able to inspire the pupils I met today and show them that anything is possible. If you have a dream job in mind, you can make it happen by working hard now and into further education or apprenticeship schemes. It is our pleasure to work with the staff and pupils of Starbank School.”
