Arno Vale Junior School
Awarded £378.49 towards their AVJS Eco Garden
The funding provided by the RRRF will be used to purchase timber for a frame to construct a ‘plastic bottle’ greenhouse. A compost bin and water butt will also be added to the eco garden. This will all be part of a wider project to achieve Green Flag status as an eco school.
Blidworth Men in Sheds
Awarded £650 for new workshop equipment
Blidworth Men-in-Sheds has around 50 members and works with recycled or donated material to create new products ranging from toys to kitchen equipment to walking sticks! The new bandsaw will enable to project to continue supporting the group that creates a community around recycling.
Tin Hat Centre
Awarded £435.36 to start a reusable cup scheme
The Boomerang project aims to reduce food and general waste and promote reuse. Funding will be used to purchase reusable cups for use within our community cafe. The cups would be used for beverages and home made soup. The money from the sale of the cups will be used to offer refills at a reduced rate as an incentive for long term waste reduction.
Greasley Beauvale Primary School
Awarded £613.69 towards their Rainbow Recycle and Reduce Improvement Project
Greasley Beauvale are working towards their Eco School Bronze Award and are developing a project to encourage recycling and reducing throughout school. The funding will be used to purchase composting and gardening equipment and recycling bins.
