Advent Day 4

Fairy lights on the blink?

Take them to one of our twelve Recycling Centres this Christmas and give them a second chance to shine.

WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. It includes everything from electric razors and toothbrushes to vacuums and phone chargers – pretty much every electrical or electronic item you find in your home with a plug or battery. Electrical items (including but not limited to those marked with a symbol of a wheeled bin with a cross through it) can be repaired or recycled – saving natural resources and the environment.

Most electrical waste consists of multiple materials, including glass, plastic, and metals including lead and mercury. This complex and potentially dangerous mix of components means that WEEE from Nottinghamshire households should always be recycled at the Recycling Centres and never put into the kerbside bins.

All of Nottinghamshire's Recycling Centres are open 8am - 4pm, 7 days per week apart from:

Christmas Day,

Boxing Day,

New Years Day.
