2015

  • BITC Sustainable Products and Services Award 2015 - The award was presented to Veolia for reducing dependency on natural resources for itself and its customers by manufacturing products and green energy using waste, wastewater and wasted heat.
  • Achieved 'four stars' in Business in the Community's Corporate Responsibility Index - recognising our efforts to transform our business to ensure we continue to have a positive impact on society
  • EDIE Awards – Sustainable leader of the Year Award to Estelle Brachlianoff for sustainable leadership and implementation of Veolia’s ‘Resourcing the World’ strategy across the UK and Ireland
  • PR Week Awards – Issues and Crisis Management – Award for our communications programme to manage media and public interest in the safe destruction of Syrian B-precursor chemicals at Ellesmere Port
  • 2Degrees – UK Leader of the Year to Estelle Brachlianoff for pushing the boundaries of sustainable business and the successful launch of our ‘Resourcing the World’ strategy and transformation into a resource management leader.
  • CIA Awards – Winner of the Chemical Industry Association - Reputation Management Award – for the destruction of Syrian Chemicals on behalf of the British Government – reflecting our work to protect our reputation and raise that of the chemical industry on an international level during the destruction of Syrian chemicals at Ellesmere Port.
  • Investors in People – retained the IIP Gold Award for our Municipal business for best practice in people management, people development and improved leadership

2014

  • ‘First Women Business of the Year’ Award - The award was given to Veolia for going beyond statutory requirements in promoting and developing our talented female workforce and establishing a flexible workforce in the once traditional recycling, waste and water sector.
  • Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development - Veolia received the award for setting its new business strategy which focuses on manufacturing green energy and calories and places it at the centre of the circular economy.
  • Achieved 'four stars' in Business in the Community's Corporate Responsibility Index
  • Gold Award at Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2014
  • Engineer of the Year Award - Veolia graduate, Anthony Thomas, was announced as Engineer of The Year at the Water Industry Achievement Awards for his dedication, energy and creativity in supporting schools and colleges through Stem in Sussex.
  • Gold award at SABIC European Awards – Our Teesside team was recognised for their sustained safety performance throughout the delivery of the integrated oil and gas industrial services waste management and recycling contracts.
  • Pump Industry Awards - The Tay Project, part of our Private Finance Initiative North, won the award for our contribution in the environment section for our work with Xylem water solutions.
  • Peer Award for Excellence – for our work with Southwark Council in developing London’s first energy from waste district heating network
  • Benefits Excellence Awards – for our HR team’s Cycle to Work Scheme which won the Salary Sacrifice Benefits Category

2013

  • Big Tick in the 2013 BitC National Awards, within the Workplace Talent and Skills categories
  • Retained our Big Tick in the Climate Change category
