Veolia Environmental Services’ Credit Control Team, based at Kingswood, Cannock is celebrating after winning a top prize at the region’s premier business awards – the Midlands Excellence Awards.
Watched by 500 business leaders, the organisation fought off stiff competition to win the Excellence Champions award in the prestigious Midlands Excellence Specialist Category Awards and collected their trophy from double Olympic rowing gold medallist, Steve Williams, at a gala ceremony held at the Great Hall, University of Birmingham.
Now in their fourth successful year, these awards recognise outstanding performance in the areas of Innovation, Excellence Champions, Lean Process, Customer Service, and People Development.
The Specialist Category Awards are open to any organisation which has a good story to tell in one of the categories mentioned. Although the application is short, the assessment process is thorough and following a desktop assessment, shortlisted organisations present to an independent panel of experts.
Speaking after the gala ceremony, Midlands Excellence chief executive Ian Nield said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Veolia Environmental Services and I congratulate them wholeheartedly. Every organisation we’ve recognised has undergone rigorous independent assessment and consistently demonstrated a genuine passion for excellence and performance improvement. An example to all of us, Veolia Environmental Services has earned its place in the Midlands Excellence hall of fame.”
Asked why they had chosen to recognise Veolia Environmental Services the awards panel made the following comments: “Well done to Veolia Environmental Services’s Credit Control team for the way they have transformed the department in recent years, which has led to them being recognised for best practice both within the wider Veolia business and the credit control sector. A shining example to all.”
