Recycle your old directories

Residents across West Berkshire will start to receive their brand new Yellow Pages directories from the 1st March 2013. Old directories can be recycled through the kerbside recycling collection service or they can be taken to one of the districts mini recycling centres or Household Waste Recycling Centres.

West Berkshire Executive Councillor for the Environment, Hilary Cole commented: “Yellow Pages are easily recyclable by placing them in your green box for paper and cardboard. They will be recycled into new cardboard, egg boxes and newspapers!”

General Manager for Veolia Environmental Services, Mark Gray added: “If every household in West Berkshire recycled their Yellow Pages, 20 tonnes of paper would be diverted from landfill.”

Residents can also have a go at reducing their waste by opting out of receiving Yellow Pages by registering their address at www.junkbuster.org.uk or telephoning 0800 671 444.
