When It Comes To Nappies The Smart Money Is On Real!

In celebration of National Real Nappy Week 2013 (15th – 21st April) West Berkshire Council and their recycling and waste contractors Veolia Environmental Services are launching a new £30 cashback scheme for families that spend £60 or more on real nappies. The Real Nappy Campaign in West Berkshire aims to raise awareness about how using real nappies can save money, as well as protecting the environment by reducing waste.

Parents and parents-to-be are invited to attend a free Nappuccino session to find out more at The Wellbeing Centre, Pound Street, Newbury on Wednesday 17 April between 10am and 12noon. Alternatively all of the information including the application form and terms and conditions are available to download here.

West Berkshire Executive Councillor for the Environment, Hilary Cole commented: “Every year in the UK we throw away three billion disposable nappies, most of which end up in landfill sites across the country. The launch of our cashback scheme in West Berkshire and use of our free two week trial should encourage parents to give real nappies a go to see just how easy they are!”

General Manager of Veolia Environmental Services in West Berkshire, Mark Gray said: “Real nappies are a great choice for protecting our environment by reducing the amount of rubbish thrown away as well as really saving your family money."
