Engaging with the local community
Veolia is committed to engaging with the local community as we progress our plans for Alton. To this end, we recently held a public consultation on the plans to encourage local residents to get involved and have their say.
The consultation ran between Friday 14th February and Monday 16th March and included public events in Alton, Holybourne, Binsted, Froyle and Bentley. The exhibition boards on display during these events can be found to the right of this text.
In total, 596 people attended the exhibitions, with 366 individual pieces of feedback submitted either via telephone, email, letter or the feedback form which was available on the project website and at the events.
Veolia has listened carefully to the feedback and concerns raised by attendees and has provided a full response to the comments submitted within the Statement of Community Involvement which has been submitted alongside the planning application.
If you would like to access the planning application and the associated documents, you can do so via Hampshire County Council's Planning Portal here.
The County Council will undertake its own period of statutory consultation on the proposals before the application is determined later this year.
