We’re working with our customers across the capital to donate pre-loved coats for those who need them most this winter.
WrapUp London
Now in its 14th year, this campaign is hosted throughout November by HandsOn London, a charity dedicated to encouraging and supporting Londoners in playing an active role in their communities.
It has become one of the largest winter volunteering events in the city with over 60 drop off points in accessible locations, such as those at some of London’s biggest and busiest tube stations: Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Waterloo and London Bridge. It’s thanks to the legion of dedicated volunteers that these coats make it to their charity partners that provide frontline services to the homeless, the elderly, refugees, children and families living in poverty and people fleeing domestic violence.
They collect men’s, women’s, children’s and even dog’s coats and since 2011, they’ve collected over 200,000. For some, this coat will be a lifeline and the beginning of an ongoing journey with a charity they previously didn’t know existed or had no idea was there to support them.
A coat you no longer wear may seem like a small forgotten thing in the back of your wardrobe but it could be the first step to getting help for someone really in need.

Collecting With Our Customers
For the second year in a row, we’ve been collecting coats with our customers in London such as the iconic Southbank Centre and together, we’ve collected almost 180 coats in just two years. These defenders against the cold are now on their way to those in need.
“We are extremely grateful for the support of Veolia over the past two years. WrapUp London is all about bringing together the Community in the spirit of helping those less fortunate. Veolia has embraced this in a meaningful way, engaging not only their own staff but also their customers. At HandsOn London, we believe that great things happen when people come together, this is a prime example of that - Thankyou.”

Community Spirit
For HandsOn London, community spirit is their very ethos, encouraging Londoners to incorporate volunteering into their lives in the big city, in whatever form that works for them.
For Veolia, community spirit is at the core of everything we do, from keeping London clean, tidy and safe, to delivering initiatives that reconnect school pupils with nature and fund local projects dedicated to supporting their neighbours or bolstering biodiversity across the UK.
"When we work together we can create meaningful change that supports as many people as possible. WrapUp London is just one of the many initiatives our dedicated teams deliver across the country and we’re so proud to be working alongside our customers to support this vital campaign. Thank you to all those who donated and collected their coats to not only save them from going to waste but to help someone this winter.”
