Want to save cash on food? It's in the pan...

Visitors to Newbury Farmers Market on Sunday 2 March between 9am - 1pm can learn how to save up to £50 off their monthly food shopping bill by making the most of the food they have and make delicious sweet and savoury pancakes this Pancake Day.

A wide variety of easy recipes using everyday leftovers will be cooked up live throughout the market, and visitors will be invited to sample all the food!

Residents are being given the challenge to 'Give Food Some Thought' to help reduce the amount of perfectly good food, and therefore money, wasted every day! This exciting campaign is brought to residents by West Berkshire Council and their recycling and waste contractor, Veolia Environmental Services, who have teamed up with Newbury Farmers Market, in order to kick start their 'Love Food, Hate Waste' road shows for the summer!

Knowledgeable food waste advisers will be handing out free food portion measuring tools throughout the market and offering guidance on how householders can cut food wastage even further!
