Have you ever wondered about what plastics can be recycled in West Berkshire? Here you can find out more about which types of plastics we can accept for recycling and why.
In West Berkshire we collect plastic bottles and tins/cans from the kerbside in a green sack. There are hundreds of different types of plastics used for packaging so it can be confusing especially when you add in all the different recycling symbols.
To find out more, read our Plastics Recycling flyer below, which tells you about what can and can't be recycled. You can save this to keep as a reminder at home, just right click on the link below and choose "Save this file as...".
If you can't download the flyer, there is a very simple checklist to decide whether you can recycle your plastic or not. Ask yourself TWO questions:
- Is the item plastic - Yes or No
- Is the item bottle-shaped - Yes or No
If you answer YES to both questions, then your item can be recycled in the green sack at the kerbside. If you answer NO to either one of these questions, then it is not suitable for plastics recycling in West Berkshire, although don't forget to put all your food and drink cans and tins into the sack as well.
