12 july 2013
As part of the transformation of Veolia Environnement, Estelle Brachlianoff has been appointed as Veolia Environnement Director of Northern Europe and UK Country Director, combining responsibility for its water and waste management activities. Estelle also joins the Veolia Environnement Executive Committee, chaired by Chairman and CEO, Antoine Frérot.

The transformation means business operations are now brought together within a country-based organisation with water and waste management activities each placed under the authority of a single director and structured around nine geographic zones.

The announcement of a new Northern European zone represents a significant milestone for the group reflecting the area’s importance and accountability within the company’s organisational structure. As Director of Northern Europe, Estelle will be responsible for the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Eire, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.

Estelle Brachlianoff, Veolia Environnement Director of Northern Europe and UK Country Director, said: “I am pleased to take on this new role in Northern Europe as well as UK country manager for the newly merged water and waste business.  The evolution and joining together of our businesses will I believe make us stronger, more flexible and better able to adapt to our ever changing markets.

“For our public and private sector customers, the transformation means we will be able to provide the industry standard for environmental solutions. We have achieved genuine competitive differentiation with a complete sustainability proposition based on our expertise in major environmental issues in water and waste management.

“I believe the forward-looking initiatives we are putting in place will accelerate our transformation and the deployment of a profitable growth strategy.  We will become more agile and efficient and our customers will be able to gain greater benefits from our continued investment in innovation.”

Veolia Environnement has set four strategic objectives to achieve its transformation goals:

 - to focus on activities where it can provide distinct added value,
 - to speed up the development of the business undertaken for industrial customers,
 - to strengthen its position in growth markets,
