Falcon swoops in on Croft Farm Landfill Open Day

Residents invited behind the scenes at Croft Farm landfill

With summer finally here residents in Doncaster and neighbouring areas are invited to take a look behind the scenes at Croft Farm landfill on Saturday 28th July. Veolia Environmental Services, operators of the site, will be holding the special Open Day from 8am to 1pm and all visitors are welcome.

Residents are invited in to witness firsthand the biodiversity which surrounds the area ranging from water voles to falcons and explaining how a landfill works by turning waste into a resource.

During the day visitors can look forward to experiencing:

•A tour of the site in our 4x4 off roaders
•Learn about the restoration of the site and new engineering activity
•Meet the local falconer and his bird of prey
•Children’s gifts ranging from yoyos to coloring books all made from recycled material
Malcolm West, Site Manager at Veolia Environmental Services’ Croft Farm site said:

“We think this is a great opportunity for our neighbours and local residents to come and explore what happens at our site. We hope people will come to meet us and gain an inside view on how we are working behind the scenes on their behalf!”

Please join us on Saturday 28th July  between 8am to 1pm at Croft Farm, Askern Road, Croft Farm, Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN6 8DE. For more information visit www.veoliaenvironmentalservices.co.uk.
