Veolia’s Waste Manifesto 2, addressing key issues affecting the waste & recycling industry

At a time when the new coalition Government has pledged its commitment to a strong environmental policy, Deputy CEO, Paul Levett will be launching Veolia’s Waste Manifesto 2 (16 June) addressing key issues affecting the waste and recycling industry.

These include the company’s views on community engagement, incentivising recycling and combined heat and power.

Throughout the show, the Veolia Environmental Services’ team will be on hand at the stand (KA18) to talk to new and existing customers, meet prospective suppliers, discuss the latest technology advances and outline recruitment opportunities.

Carlo Laurenzi OBE, Chief Executive of the London Wildlife Trust will also be on hand at 2pm on 15 June to promote‘152 Wild Things To Do’, a new book sponsored by Veolia Environnement. The guide is designed to reconnect people with nature around the UK and Carlo will be giving out free copies.

Visitors to the stand will also be encouraged to calculate their organisation’s carbon footprint contribution with Veolia’s greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) tracker tool. The tool is designed for the waste industry and can help measure the carbon footprint production of different waste collection and treatment options. It can also suggest best methods for an organisation to decrease their carbon footprint.

Jean Dominique Mallet, chief executive officer Veolia Environmental Services said: “This is a great opportunity for the recycling and waste industry to spell out how it can make a major contribution to reducing our national carbon footprint by taking advantage of proven advances in technology and sharing them with key stakeholders. We look forward to showcasing our new waste manifesto to the sector and helping to build a low-carbon economy.”
